Clarity Castle

Fans of The Midnight Library will revel in this uplifting coming of age story, ripe with clever metaphors and an adventure of self-discovery.

While walking in the woods near her home, Clare Knox discovers a castle in the place of the old quarry. When she realizes it’s actually a realm with an infinite number of alternate versions of herself, she can’t believe her luck. But things aren’t all rainbows and sunshine, and Clare finds herself in the midst of Clarity Castle’s strange rituals, which seem to become less clear by the minute. Will Clare rise to meet her counterparts’ expectations of her, or will she crumble under the weight of her own self-criticism?

Clare and all of her alternate versions are thoroughly fleshed out and each feels as real as if they were the protagonists of a story. The book has a fantastic pace that keeps you on your toes, lovely and unique characters (a hard thing to do considering most are actually the same person), expansive world-building, and filled with ‘what could have been’s!

This was so mindbending! This is a squeaky clean coming of age novel about a teenager who has no idea what she wants to do when she graduates high school. She finds answers when she stumbles upon a castle where thousands of alternate versions of herself hang out. By the time the book ends, Claire has indeed found clarity. Super cute!

Thankfully, Clare wasn’t some ass-kicking cliche badass who knows what she’s doing. No Clare is your ordinary heroine stumbling into a world full of alternate identities of herself. The story is from her POV which is absolutely stunning and easy to follow.
