Some games are so good they’re to die for.
Following clues that are shaped like old pixelated video games and are hidden in the city, Shane stumbles upon a secret gaming club. The secretive members are at the top of the leaderboard for the new online game sweeping the nation. Shane is wary, but they invite him to try out the new ultra sensitive VR suits that put the gamer directly into the action. This technology is the secret to their unrivaled success in this new game. For Shane, this is a first-person opportunity he can’t resist. He soon finds out that once you’re strapped into these suits, there’s no escaping the game. To make matters worse, the simulation is so lifelike that players feel the damage first hand. Battles aren’t just for a high score, but a battle for Shane’s life because losing in the game means death in real life.
Shane finds out he is not alone in the simulation. Two more players are trapped in the simulation, but he can’t figure out if they are friends or foes. As Shane tries to navigate the other characters that he can’t depend on, he also has to survive constant raids by gamers trying to knock them off the leaderboard, mythical creatures hellbent on wiping out all life in the castle, and prevent the wrath of the maniacs who trapped him in the game.
Danger and death not only lurk around every turn, but they’re a way of life here. The only hope of escape lies in a mysterious tower that is guarded by an unnamed terror, that’s if the traps don’t finish him off first. But not risking escape through the dangerous tower is to embrace certain doom.
