Real Life Romance: Gilbert and Elizabeth

We’ve reached that point in our relationship.
The moment we both dreaded and looked forward to for so long.
We are empty nesters.
For years our imagination has run wild with all the exciting things we would do after the kids left. But now we’re alone, and instead of living our dreams, we’re stuck.
Stuck in old patterns, old habits, old routines.
The excitement waned, lost in the empty spaces our old life left behind.
Is this it? Just more of the same and nothing to look forward to.
It can’t be.
We need to reinvent ourselves. Find the spark that dulled over the years, but is still there, waiting to turn into flames again.
We have one shot at this.
To turn wishes and wants into a real life romance.
One last chance to make it work before we too go our separate ways.

What a wonderful book. I loved this story of real life romance between a husband and wife who have to readjust to being a couple after years of focusing on being “parents.” So well told, full of fun, and a lovely, thoroughly enjoyable read.

amazon review

This book was a roller coaster ride and so realistic. Every empty nester needs to read this book. It’s a sweet, clean romance with all the feels. It reads and feels like real life. It’s well written and kept me entertained to the end. It definitely makes you look at seasoned relationships in a new light. I enjoyed the writing style as Tara Conrad is a new author to me.

This is the fourth book from this author and definitely quite different than her other books. This book is not your typical romance. It’s clean (no sex scenes), it’s real and it really makes you realize how hard relationships are no matter how long you have been together. This book is the most real romance I’ve ever read and I am so happy with the twists and turns in it. The author really puts her heart and soul into her stories and it shows.
