This was a really surprising read for me. I have recently become very fascinated with water-based fantasy, but for me that means mostly mermaids. So for some unknown reason I expected lots of mermaids. We do get “The Arctic Mermaid” – and I definitely loved that story! But I was so surprised to also enjoy A LOT the rest of the stories, which are about other water creatures. Some of them I didn’t even know existed (in lore), to be honest.

Such a beautiful collection of short stories. Each one was unique and colored by each author’s unique voice. I think there is a little something for everyone to love here. Action. Adventure. Fantasy. Drama. Horror. Romance. Fables. I loved that each story was so different from the next, and I genuinely want to dive deeper into some of the worlds written about in Enchanted Waters.
