Through this story we explore trauma and healing, societal disregard of abuse, privilege vs non privilege, the treatment and labeling of victims of abuse, and women’s safety in society. We also get to explore healing after trauma, and the complexities of friendship and love. The romantic aspect to this story is beautifully and intimately written and underpins everything.

Emotional rollercoaster for sure! I wasn’t sure what was going to happen after the last book ended. Some things I could predict but nothing could have prepared me for it all. Lilly was a master at taking the reader through each emotion as Brit struggles to deal with the trauma of her past and present. It is a little dark just with all Brit goes through, so beware.
