Enemies to Lovers

Barely Out of Training

Damien, Mia, Paige. Three intertwined stories, pulled into a world of car races, fighting, lies, secrets, friends, enemies and lovers. The three of them touch each other’s lives without changing the course of the story which starts with Damien flying into a new country, barely knowing the language and learning about a whole new world he’s never been in before. His stepsister Mia is already starting to get connected with the underground world of car racing and criminals when Damien steps into the picture.

Mia is a complicated girl who sees and feels the world in a different light and way. She gets pushed and pulled in all directions including getting involved with her brother’s best friend and falling in love with someone she shouldn’t.

The final most important perspective, Paige, is the one that really draws you in with her interesting past life of surviving through traumas shaping her into the amazing and chaotic person she is throughout this book. She is a bartender on the surface but behind the scenes she’s living a double life training through a secret military base. While working at the bar during night shifts, she meets and gets involved with the complicated lives of Damien and Mia.

The character development is one of the book’s strongest points. Mia is a complex character whose emotional depth and struggles with love—particularly her complicated feelings for her brother’s best friend—add layers to the narrative. Biceffi captures Mia’s internal conflicts beautifully, portraying her as a young woman trying to navigate a world filled with pressure and expectations. Paige is another standout character, with her dual life as a bartender and a secret military trainee. Her past traumas shape her in fascinating ways, making her storyline the most compelling. Readers are drawn into her chaotic world, which contrasts sharply with the thrill of car racing that permeates the novel.

Multiple POVs, loved getting the story from different sides and perspectives. Loved how Paige, Mia and Fours stories all linked together. I really enjoyed reading it. It was very interesting especially when it all started coming together with the racing and Four and Paige. I’m really mad that it ended on a cliffhanger lol, but I’ll get over once I read book two I’m sure 😄.

Really enjoyed this one. There is def something for everyone. Mystery. Suspense. Romance. Action.
This is told in multiple POVs, which I loved because I got to see the story from different perspectives. Throw in an underground racing circuit, rivaling military style gangs, love triangles, and mystery identities and you’ve got a great mix!! I will say that this ends on a cliffhanger, so just be warned that you’re gonna have to read book two lol!!
