Alethea – Killing Gods Book 1

We are not Gods, no matter what Zeus thinks.

Alethea

Terra was perfect. Should have been perfect. With it, we could finally complete our evolution study of humanity. Instead, it’s all gone wrong. All because Poseidon can’t keep it in his pants. He may not care if the High Council finds out what we’ve done, but I have secrets too… Secrets they can never discover.

I have abilities, terrifying abilities, and a recurring dream. But that doesn’t scare me. That honor goes to the voice in my head. I tried to ignore him, but the louder he gets, the harder it is to appear normal. What if he’s real? Between the voice in my head and the woman in my dreams, am I losing my mind?

Take a thrilling ride into a world where Greek Gods are not only real, they are still here pulling strings. Perfect for lovers of Greek gods genesis and space opera stories, Alethea has it all. If you like American Gods, Indiana Jones, Clash of the Titans, Dan Brown, and the Expanse, you’ll love Killing Gods.

When Themians arrive in Terra’s orbit to study and not interfere, all except one become emotional sponges and things go quickly south. I loved how the genesis of Greek myths is explained and especially Zeus + Hera and oh, Atlantis fans, you’ll love the explanation in this book.

amazon review

If you like alternate mythologies, you’ll enjoy this book. I enjoyed how the author created an alternate explanation for Greek mythology and how the “gods” still affect modern day. I thought the way the author alternated between the past and present as well as between two narrators was extremely well done. I had problems with the amount of abuse Sydney suffered but I do know it was an integral part of the story. I look forward to reading the next book in this series. Five Stars!

amazon review

This is a very clever story that interweaves two vastly different lives, yet somehow, they are also alike. The author’s novel take on Greek mythology is interesting and exciting and her description of Sydney’s life both heart wrenching and uplifting. The story is well written with character depth and great world building. You are drawn into both women’s lives and can’t help but feel invested and engaged. It will draw you in, hold you tight and not let go till you’ve read final line.
